Ever since I was a young girl…
…I’ve been enamored with two things: great writing and great design. I eventually earned a degree in journalism and spent my twenties and the greater part of my thirties running a booming copywriting business. All the while, while I was writing for clients by day, I was rearranging, painting and remodeling my home by night.
Then, as the introduction of AI turned the tides and I saw both my leads and my enthusiasm for the business wean, I knew I had a choice: I could either curse the dark (aka spend my days lamenting about how my beloved em-dash had been hijaked by the robots) or turn on a light (read: finally chase the art-form that had called to me for decades).
MEET GILLIAN GRIFFITH
The choice was both terrifying and deeply thrilling…
…but made easier by the impossible-to-ignore breadcrumbs the universe dropped every single day: tradespeople walking into our home and immediately asking if I was an interior designer, neighbors reaching out about our kitchen remodel, friends asking for toy-organization help, moms in the preschool parking lot wanting design guidance for their nursery, family members purchasing new builds and asking if I would design the whole damn thing.
Free work for friends eventually turned into consultations for friends-of-friends—which eventually turned into the full-on launch of GG Designs.
At the heart of it all is understanding
The trait that made me successful at copywriting is the same thing I rely on today as I work to design your gallery wall, elevate your playroom, or help you select the perfect materials for your dream kitchen: my ability to capture someone’s essence based on simple—but meaningful—conversations.
I love listening to what you have to say, mining for the gems, giving the important plot points their proper due—and ultimately translating a heap of seemingly unrelated details into one cohesive, compelling big picture that makes you feel seen and celebrated.
